Omo Ibile Igbomina convened a landmark Pre-Igbomina Women Summit Planning Meeting on March 4, 2026, at Igbomina House, Ganmo, as part of deliberate efforts to strengthen women’s participation in the socio-cultural and developmental advancement of Igbomina land.
The meeting, which was presided over by the National President of Omo Ibile Igbomina, Sir Bisi Fakayode, who is also the convener appreciates the presence of dignitaries, elders, and traditional representatives in his welcome address. This include Olori Musbau Dawodu of Okanle for their steadfast commitment to the Igbomina cause.
The President further reiterated that his administration remains firmly anchored on the tripod agenda of Rescue, Revitalize, and Rebuild the Igbomina Nation, emphasizing that the role of women is pivotal to the realization of this laudable vision.
Sir Fakayode further noted that the primary objective of the meeting was to formalize a unified platform for Igbomina women through the establishment of the Igbomina Women Assembly to evolve into Asepo Igbomina Women. The initiative, according to him, is designed to harmonize women’s bodies across Kwara and Osun Igbomina communities, thereby creating a formidable and coordinated structure for women’s engagement in the affairs of Omo Ibile Igbomina.
As part of his stewardship report since assumption of office, Sir Fakayode highlighted strategic engagements with retired Permanent Secretaries of Igbomina extraction, Royal fathers, and Religious leaders as he also acknowledged the immense contributions of distinguished Igbomina sons and daughters toward the infrastructural transformation of Igbomina House, noting that the era of complacency in Igbomina land has given way to purposeful action and collective responsibility.
To ensure transparency and inclusiveness, Secretaries of various committees Inaugurated recently presented comprehensive reports detailing progress made and outlining actionable programmes aligned with the administration’s transformation agenda.
In their goodwill messages, participants stressed the importance of unity, mutual support, strategic networking, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to the Igbomina project. These recommendations were unanimously adopted as guiding principles for moving forward and achieving the needed results.
At the meeting, it was resolved to constitute a nine-member committee charged with developing modalities for the successful hosting of the proposed Women Summit. The committee is chaired by Prof. Felicia Olasheinde, with Mrs. Babajamu Adenike as Secretary, alongside other eminent members drawn from across field of life.
Dignitaries at the meeting include but are not limited to the Acting Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Prince Adebukola Babalola, Hon. Toyosi Thomas, Hon. Adenike Harriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin, Hon. (Mrs) Ebun Ojeleye, Prof. Felicia Bisi Olasheinde, Olori Olokanle of Okanle and other notable stakeholders.
The Pre-Summit Planning Meeting marks a significant milestone in consolidating the women’s wing as a strategic pillar in the ongoing mission to Rescue, Revitalize, and Rebuild the Igbomina Nation.
