Omo Ibile Igbomina, led by its National President, Sir Bisi Fakayode, in collaboration with the Kwara State Government, has organized a strategic Teachers’ training programme to enhance Students’ performance in the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) across Igbomina land.

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olalekan Olohungbebe, commended the leadership of Omo Ibile Igbomina for initiating a programme focused on strengthening teachers’ professional development and improving learning outcomes across the state.

“The initiative by Omo Ibile Igbomina is highly commendableAlthough it is organized in Igbomina land, its impact will benefit the whole of Kwara State, as improved teaching will lead to better academic performance among Students,” the Commissioner said.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Omo Ibile Igbomina Education Rescue Committee, Professor Mukaila Ayanda Aremu, on behalf of the National Executive Council led by the National President, Sir Bisi Fakayode, expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for approving and supporting the Teachers’ training programme.

He further expressed appreciation to members of the committee and stakeholders for their dedication and cooperation towards achieving the programme’s objectives. Notably, the training is being conducted concurrently at the Igbaja centre, where key committee members, including Prof. Dame Esther Ore Omosewo, Prof. Afusat Titilayo Alabi, and Joel Afolayan, Secretary of the committee, are leading sessions and guiding participants to ensure effective knowledge transfer and capacity building.

The three-day training programme, which started yesterday at Omu-Aran centre and continued simultaneously today at Igbaja and Ajase centres, is being organized across five centres in Igbomina land, namely: Omu-Aran, Owu-Isin, Ajase-Ipo, Igbaja, and Share.

Present at the programme were the representative of the National Executive Council of Omo Ibile Igbomina, Elder Aborisade Theophilus Arinola; the Development Officer, Isin Local Government Area, Dr. Serah Omowumi Oloyede; and Mr. Bello Mohammed, among other stakeholders and participating teachers.

Participants at the workshop praised Omo Ibile Igbomina for its commitment to enhancing teaching quality and educational outcomes in the region.
