Agbele
According to the history passed down from our forefathers, Agbele was founded by people who migrated from the town of Edidi. Three hunters were particularly associated with the journey that eventually led them to Agbele. Their names were Jojo, Awóre Ifẹ, and Otúbú.
These three men were experienced and courageous hunters. In those days, hunting was an important means of survival and livelihood. They regularly went into the forest in search of animals and other resources. During one of their hunting expeditions, they travelled from Edidi
and eventually arrived in the area that is now known as Agbele. After discovering the area, they continued to return to it from time to time. They would go out hunting and later come back to their original settlement. As time went on, they became increasingly familiar with the land and its surroundings.
Eventually, they realized that the area was suitable for settlement. They therefore made the decision to remain in Agbele permanently instead of continually returning to Edidi. They settled there, established their homes, and began building a community. As more people came to join them, the settlement gradually grew into a larger community. Through generations, the descendants of these early settlers continued to live in the area and preserve the history and traditions of their ancestors. Therefore, according to this oral history, the foundation of Agbele can be traced back to the three hunters-Jojo, Awóre Ifẹ, and Otúbú-who came from Edidi and eventually chose to make Agbele their permanent home.
