He was born into the family of the late Alhaji Yusuf Alao Aroworowon and the late Alhaja Sa’adatu Ajibola Aweni Aroworowon. From an early age, he demonstrated diligence, integrity, and a strong work ethic by assisting his father, a farmer and trader, in agricultural and commercial activities. Inspired by these experiences, he established his own farming enterprise known as “Abushey,” where he successfully cultivated crops such as melon (baara) and potatoes (oduku). In pursuit of greater opportunities, he relocated to Lagos in 1952 with his younger brother, with the approval and support of their father. While in Lagos, he attended Hasbunallahu Arabic School, Oke-Popo, where he studied from 1952 to 1957. During this period, his uncle introduced him to trading, particularly in the sale of traditional caps known as Awo caps. This venture laid the foundation for his successful career in business.
