Engr. Dr Shuaeeb Niyi Oyewole

PROFILE OF ENGR. DR SHUAEEB NIYI OYEWOLEMNSE, MNIAE, MASABE, R.ENGR (COREN)

• Dr. Shuaeeb Niyi Oyewole is a native of Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria, and was born on the 5^th April, 1975 at Omu-Aran to the family of Late Mr. Oyewole Akanbi Moronfoye and Mrs. Sifawu Oyewole of Oke-Ajah Compound, Omu-Aran.
• He started his educational career at St. Paul’s Primary School, Omu-Aran in 1982. He proceeded to Ofe-Aran Commercial College after obtaining his Primary Education Certificate in 1988. He completed his secondary school education in 1994.
• He bagged his first, second and third degrees in Agricultural and BiosystemsEngineering at University of Ilorin in 2003, 2013 and 2023 respectively.
• Dr. Shuaeeb Niyi Oyewole is an agricultural engineer by training with specialization in postharvest technology.
• He secured his first appointment after graduation with a private fabrication company in Ibadan. He joined Tropical Development Engineering Limited (Tropical Engineers) in March 2005. He was employed as a Production Engineer in charge of the company’s workshop. He was with the company for about three years (2005 – 2008). His contributions to the growth of the company could not be forgotten in the area of design, fabrication and installation of equipment and management of technical personnel.
• He continued his professional career with Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) in February 2008.He was employed as a research officer to conduct studies into postharvest loss reduction of agricultural commodities produced and consumed in Nigeria.
• He has contributed immensely to development of an array of postharvest equipment and structures for quality maintenance and shelf-life extension of agricultural commodities. He has an array of publications which cover conference proceedings, journals and textbooks in his chosen career.
• He is a registered engineer under the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).He is a member of some professional bodies; Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE) and American Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (ASABE).
• His international exposure has taken him beyond the shore of this country. He was in Israel in 2009 for three (3) weeks training on “Agricultural Technologies”. He was also in United States of America in 2016 for another international course on “Basic Techniques for Grain Handling and Silo Management”. He was also in Ghana in 2019 for another training workshop on fish value addition technologies.

• He is the immediate past head of Postharvest Engineering Research department,a former General Manager of NEESPREE Limited(the business arm of NSPRI) and immediate past Zonal Coordinator of NSPRI Ibadan Zonal Office.
• He is a Chief Research Officer and the Zonal Coordinator of Lagos Zonal Office of NSPRI.
• He is an astute administrator and a resource manager per excellence.
• He is currently the state chairman of Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), KwaraState Branch, former Editorial Secretary of Journal of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (JAET) and reviewer of many reputable journals.
• Aside from the academic/professional life and career progression of Dr.Oyewole, he is also a community developer, youth leader and social service provider. Notable among the positions he has occupied in the past are:
